Senior CAD Technician - Edinburgh

The candidate will be required to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of construction drawing practice and the use of CAD systems such as AutoCAD.

Additional in-house training will be provided specific to drawing and engineering associated with our work in the railway sector.

The candidate:

Essential:

• Extensive knowledge and experience of delivering civil and structural engineering models and drawings.
• Practical experience of AutoCAD
• The delivery of structural steelwork/civil engineering drawings
• The production of reinforced concrete drawings and schedules.
• Attention to detail.
• Have the ability to work as part of a dedicated team.
• Have the ability to self-check work before approval stage. 
• Be self-motivated, and diligent and have good time management skills.
• Good numeracy and computer skills
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Advantageous:

• Experience using Civils3D or Bentley MicroStation
• Practical knowledge of common data environments such as Bentley ProjectWise, BIM 360 would be beneficial.
• A working knowledge of 3D model coordination and clash detection software such as Autodesk Navisworks.
• Have good experience in design using a common data environment (CDE).
• A practical understanding of the standards which define the UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650 would be beneficial.
• Experience using CADS RC, CADS-RC3D would be beneficial.
• Experience in highway design would be beneficial.
• A technical member of a relevant institution or actively working towards professional registration status.

Qualifications:

• HNC/D qualification or similar
