We are looking for a degree qualified civil engineer with work experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have design experience in civils/ temporary works design engineering. The job will require a motivated individual who is technically and commercially capable as well as a good communicator.  Rail experience would be an advantage.

A large proportion of the role will be working in our civils team and you should, therefore, have design experience in some or all of the following: slope stability, foundation design, ground anchors, gravity and embedded retaining wall design, design of formwork, working platforms, culvert designs and report writing. 

The individual should have a sound technical background and be competent in the use of general MS Office, AutoCAD, Strand 7 or equivalent FE analysis software and Slope/W or equivalent.  The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM Regulations.

With current restrictions it is likely that this role might be home based for a short time, although some visits to our offices may be required.  Going forward it is envisaged that this role will be office based with some home working allowed, in line with our policies and operational requirements.

  • Be able to communicate via clear and well-presented drawings
  • Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • Technical review of designs


  • Degree qualified in civil engineering (Ideally BEng/MEng min 2:1)
  • Clean driving licence.
