Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - Croydon
Job description
- As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for working independently, interfacing with clients on the technical and financial management of projects.
- The role will lead bridge design and construction projects, managing technical teams, and ensuring successful delivery.
- This role involves overseeing the development of detailed designs and managing project timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate should have
- 5-8 years of experience in civil and structural engineering.
- A good knowledge of CAD production standards
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to produce accurate and structured drawings
- A good communicator who will discuss and resolve technical issues
- Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects.
- Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensure technical compliance.
- Oversee and review engineering calculations, reports, and specifications.
- Manage aspects of project delivery, technical reviews, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
- Manage project budgets and preparation of tenders / fee proposals, timelines, and client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and supervision to other engineers and foster technical development within the team.
- Participate in business development by supporting proposal writing and technical submissions.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Site work, overnight or weekend working may be required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or related discipline from an ICE accredited course
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with ICE or related professional body
