Job description

  • As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for working independently, interfacing with clients on the technical and financial management of projects.
  • The role will lead bridge design and construction projects, managing technical teams, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • This role involves overseeing the development of detailed designs and managing project timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate should have

  • 5-8 years of experience in civil and structural engineering.
  • A good knowledge of CAD production standards
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to produce accurate and structured drawings
  • A good communicator who will discuss and resolve technical issues
  • Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects.
  • Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensure technical compliance.
  • Oversee and review engineering calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Manage aspects of project delivery, technical reviews, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Manage project budgets and preparation of tenders / fee proposals, timelines, and client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance and supervision to other engineers and foster technical development within the team.
  • Participate in business development by supporting proposal writing and technical submissions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Site work, overnight or weekend working may be required.

 

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or related discipline from an ICE accredited course
  • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with ICE or related professional body
