MHB carried out temporary works design for BAM Nuttall for the bridge slide under the railway as part of the Holytown Carfin Bypass.

The 2000 tonne reinforced concrete bridge was transported from its construction site to its final position over a weekend possession in September.

MHB carried out and co-ordinated design checks to ensure that the lifting arrangements were suitable for this critical phase of the project.

Design of strengthening works to overhead electrical power masts was also carried out to ensure that the excavation of the railway embankment did not de-stabilise these.
